Happy

This makes me happy:

22 bales of Lucerne (alfalfa), stacked in my undercover area.
Also the sunrise this morning, after I’d resettled the baby. I snapped some photos and then, as the house was still silent, I went back to bed.
And the latest photos of the mares, who are looking sleek and happy:
Happy Australia Day everyone. It’s been a good good day. I’m still a little stunned, I awoke to an email from Heather Armstrong – Dooce – thanking me for letting her know about the newspaper article and congratulating me on also being included. Dooce, she of the 1.6 million followers on twitter! Emailed me! Sheesh.

Gosh those girls are looking gorgeous!!!
Beautiful sunrise, too
How do your mares like lucerne? My guys aren’t particularly fond of it – but then I don’t know that the last load was great quality and they haven’t tried it before (with me anyway) so hard to tell.
They’ve been getting Lucerne chaff + pellets since they’ve been here and they seem to like it rather a lot. But then, when we got them they were rather skinny, they probably would have eaten anything we threw in front of them! It’s not the *best* quality lucerne, there is a fair bit of grass through it too, but they ate it at dinner time with no complaints. I’m also not complaining, I got 22 bales for $100.

Wow, that’s like you’re almost famous!
The girls look great. You’ve done a good job with them. I love the sunrise (although I’m not fond of getting up to see them, being a night owl).
The horses are looking great.
Those pictures make me happy too. Although I am still laughing about nits as well!
